Quarter 3
WRITING
I can write the purpose for my writing.
This means I can tell why I am writing, for whom I am writing, what I am writing, and the kind of writing I am doing.
I can write a report, personal narrative and a letter of request on the same topic.
This means I will know the correct form for all 3 writing applications without prompts.
I can write a fictional narrative.
This means I am going to write a story that is made-up. It is similar to a fantasy, a tale that is far out.
I can write a formal letter.
This means I can write a letter to a very important person with block form.
SOCIAL STUDIES
I can identify goods and services.
This means I can list resources and costs used to produce a good or service.
I can identify the four factors of production.
This means I can explain each factor and how it relates to a business.
I can use the problem-solving process.
This mean I can identify a problem, implement a decision, and judge its effectiveness.
READING
I can identify cause and effect.
This means I will tell what happens as a result of an event.
I can identify the author's point of view.
This means I can explain what the author's point of view is in a reading selection. I will tell what the author is feeling in the reading selection.
I can make judgments.
This means I can write and defend an opinion about a specific reading selection.
I can explain the difference between fact and opinion.
This means I can identify a fact and an opinion.
I can use context clues to understand the meaning of a word.
This means that I will understand new vocabulary by examining the context of a reading selection.
I can use dictionary skills to identify the meaning of words.
This means I will be able to research, learn and understand the meaning of words.
I can learn and identify homophones.
This means I will be able to use correctly, write and identify homophones.
MATH
I can divide single and double-digit divisors into 3 and 4 place
numbers with, and without remainders.
I can solve problems with two or more steps and explain the results
using the PEPSE method.
I can read, make, and understand coordinate grids.
I can add, subtract, compare, and order fractions.
I can explain and understand probability.
I can find perimeter, area, and volume of shapes.
I can plan and make tables, charts, line plots, line graphs, and Venn
diagrams to show data.
