Unit 6
I can identify, draw and name line segments lines and rays.
(I can pick out, name and draw different size lines, line segments and rays.)
I can draw parallel and intersecting lines.
(I can draw lines that are exactly next to one another and lines that cross or run into each other.)
I can identify and name 2-D and 3-D shapes.
(I can pick out and name solid shapes.)
I can identify right angles.
(I can pick out a right angle from different shapes and objects.)
I can draw angles and record rotations.
(I can draw angles and write down its degree.)
I can identify symmetry.
(I can tell if an object is equal, and has the same details on both sides.)
Writing
I Can write complete sentences when answering a question.
This means that when I'm answering a question, I will restate the question as part of my answer
to make it a complete sentence.
I Can spell high frequency words correctly.
This means that I can study my spelling words each week and use them correctly in my daily spelling.
I Can write and use singular and plural nouns correctly in a sentence.
This means that when I write a sentence I will use singular and plural nouns correctly.
I Can proofread sentences in my writing for spelling mistakes.
This means that I will look over my work and make sure that I've spelled everything correctly.
I Can use an editing checklist to judge the quality of my writing.
This means that when I have a writing assignment and an editing checklist is included, I will
go back to my writing and check for the things listed before I check them off.
I Can use indentation when writing paragraphs.
This means that when I write paragraphs for assignments or journal writing, I will indent the
first line of the paragraph.
I Can use a web to organize my writing.
This means when I am given a writing topic, I can draw a graphic organizer to get my thoughts
in order before starting to write.
I Can use possessive nouns correctly in a sentence.
This means that when I am writing sentences I can use the correct possessive noun using an apostrophe.
I Can use verbs correctly in a sentence.
This means that when I am writing sentences, I can use the correct verb in the sentence.
I Can use present, past, and future verbs correctly in a sentence.
This means that when I'm writing sentences, I can use the correct form of the verb in the sentence.
I Can write legibly in cursive writing.
This means that when I'm writing in cursive, I will take my time and make sure my writing strokes
are correct so that other people can read it.
